"Vetrankvil" for animals: instructions, dosage

There are not many drugs for animals that have a sedative effect. One of the most common among them is Vetranquil. It is recommended by veterinarians as a sedative, tranquilizer or a means of preparing the body for local anesthesia.

Composition, release form and packaging

The components of "Vetrankvila" are:

  • acepromazine malet - 1%;
  • chlorobutanol - 0.5%;
  • excipients - 85.5%.

Available in the form of a sterile injectable solution. Packing - a dark bottle of 50 ml. from glass. The container is sealed with a chlorbutanol stopper and rolled with an aluminum cap. The bottle is additionally packed in a cardboard box.

Pharmacological properties

The drug reduces irritation and irritability, calms the central nervous system, reduces the tone of skeletal muscles and motor activity. In addition, it can enhance the effect of sleeping pills and local anesthesia. Vetranquil is a hypothermic, hypotensive, antihistamine, adrenolytic and antiemetic agent.

  • means to prepare the body for general anesthesia.

Dosage and administration

Vaccination solution can be used in two ways: intravenously and intramuscularly. The dosage of "Vetranquila" is indicated in the instructions for use and is adjusted only by a specialist in the field of veterinary medicine after a personal examination of the animal.

Intravenously

  • Horses, cattle and pigs are recommended to take 0.5-1 ml. drug per 100 kg of live weight.

  • Dogs and goats are given 0.2-0.3 ml for every 10 kg of animal weight.

Intramuscularly

  • For horses, cattle and pigs, the dose is not less than 1 and not more than 2 ml per 100 kg of weight.
  • Sheep and goats are prescribed the drug in a volume of 0.5-1 ml for every 10 kg of body weight.
  • A single dose for dogs and cats ranges from 0.25 to 0.5 ml per 10 kg of live weight.

Use "Vetrankvil" only according to the instructions, avoid overdosing.

Security measures and special instructions

When working with medication, you must adhere to the general rules of personal hygiene, as well as safety.

Important! Empty container after using the drug is strictly prohibited to use in everyday life.
The use of milk without heat treatment from a cow that has been vaccinated for 12 hours after the last injection is also prohibited. The slaughter of an animal for meat is allowed only a day later (24 hours) after the last vaccination. If he was killed before, the meat can be used as feed for other animals or the production of meat and bone meal.

Contraindications and side effects

Contraindications to the use of "Vetranquila" may be the presence of hypothermia and cardiovascular failure. Improper use of the drug threatens the animal with short-term hypothermia, hypotension, leukopenia, leukocytosis, eosinophilia, or cicatricial pigmentation.

Term and storage conditions

Keep the medicine in a place protected from direct sunlight and children's hands, away from food. Storage temperature should not fall below + 5⁰C and rise above + 20⁰C. "Vetrankvil" is usable for 4 years from the date of manufacture.
