To date, more than a dozen of various designs of original fireplaces have been accumulated, which in the dacha serves as a waste wood utilizer, and a cozy hearth in the fresh air, and an important element in decorating the country landscape. Many seek to equip such an element of the landscape with their own hands with the help of available tools. In order for the plan to succeed as best as possible it is necessary to know some technical aspects of the process.
Design options

Above ground
As a rule, for the construction of an above-ground hearth in the ground, a round ten-centimeter groove of one meter diameter is dug out and after leveling the surface a metal rim is installed in it. Usually for this purpose a not very wide ring is cut out from a metal barrel or an old boiler.
Then a wall is erected around the rim of:
- cinder blocks;
- concrete blocks;
- paving slabs;
- granite cobblestones;
- decorative stones.
The optimal width of the erected wall are 15 centimeters. The material from which it is erected, is fixed between the masonry mortar with refractory additives, clay stove mortar or special glue for fireplaces.The gap between the metal rim and the decorative wall must be filled with sand.
Another popular overhead fireplace made of corrugated galvanized iron is quite popular:
- To do this, take two sheets of metal, the width of which is the same and corresponds to the height of the planned hearth.
- The length of the sheets will be different. At the first, it should be such that it can be rolled out of a meter diameter ring (plus a few centimeters for the approach of one end of the sheet to the other for their fastening).
- The second sheet is chosen smaller - it should make a ring with a diameter of 80 centimeters.
- Then the smaller ring is inserted into the larger one so that their centers coincide.
- The formed space between the rings is covered with sand.
Deepened
For this option, the fireplace will have to dig a hole:
- Its diameter is arbitrary and depends on personal preferences and needs of the owner, but the depth is usually about forty centimeters.
- At the bottom of the pit fits fifteen centimeters layer of fine gravel.
- A brick vertical masonry is erected along the walls of the pit using clay mortar.
- A small layer of earth is removed around the edges of the finished campfire to form a circle with a diameter of 4-5 meters.
- The resulting circle must be tiled with paving slabs.
- The gap between the paved area and the fire pit should be covered with sand.

Rules for choosing a place for campfire
The main requirement that is presented to all fireplaces without exception - compliance with fire safety regulations. Street center must be located no closer than 4 meters from trees and shrubs. From the premises and outbuildings it should be separated by a space of at least 3 meters.
It is not recommended to make a fire and near the borders of the sites, so that neighbors do not suffer from excessive smoke. Usually the fireplace is not organized in elevated places.
Important! It is strictly contraindicated to make a fire place in the immediate vicinity of the storage of gas cylinders, combustible materials and chemical products.
Arrangement of recreation areas
The dacha center performs on the site not so much utilitarian as decorative functions, contributing to the well-groomed and attractiveness of the surrounding landscape. Therefore, as a single element of the arrangement of the dacha he rarely acts.
As a rule, a peculiar recreation area in the form of a paved area surrounded by a green lawn is formed around the campfire. Walkways lead to the recreation area, and furniture (chairs, armchairs, benches, benches, tables, stylishly decorated woodpiles of firewood) is located on the ground itself.
Near the fireplace, you can also put a sofa made of pallets made by your own hand.
The fireplace in the country often performs the same functions as the hearth inside the house. Family members and their guests gather near it in order to relax and find peace of mind and disconnect from the everyday stresses with which every person’s modern life is filled with cozy crackling of firewood, fragrant smoke and the warmth of fire. 
A beautiful and functional place for a fire built on the summer cottage with its own hands can be a source of special pride of the owner. And often it becomes a key place in the surrounding landscape, just as the hearth once became a symbol of family comfort and well-being.
