It is reported by the spokesman for the financial directorate of Slovakia, Ivanna Skokanova. For her message, the Directorate is sure that it is smuggling, because the pesticide "Neonicotinoid", which the police found, is prohibited in the territory of the European Union.
A pesticide batch weighing 130 kg was found on the territory of the Slovak city of Michalovce, 40 km from the border with Ukraine. Half of the goods found labels in Ukrainian. According to the estimates of the directorate, the chemicals could be sold for 150 thousand euros, and about 5 thousand hectares of land would have been processed.
As the press service of the Directorate summed up, measures to transport chemicals into the country will now be tightened.
