Ukraine will receive from the UAE $ 2 billion for the development of solar power plants

The Investment and Development Authority (AIDA) from the UAE has signed an agreement with the domestic company STC Energy on the amount of $ 2 billion for the development of solar power plants in Ukraine.

Under the terms of the signed document, AIDA and STC Energy will be engaged in the joint implementation of the energy project. The United Arab Emirates represented by the Investment and Development Authority (AIDA) will financially support the initiative to distribute 170 MW solar power plants in Ukraine.

  • The announced amount of $ 2 billion is too high for a SES of 170 MW and more than 10 times its cost. But the agreement includes deeper cooperation in the agro-industrial sector. The agreement on cooperation between the two countries was signed in the presence of State Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade Alexei Perevezentsev and the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Arab Emirates, Yury Polurez.

    Recall to invest in the country's agri-industry has revealed a desire for Saudi Arabia. In particular, the Ternopil region was particularly interested in Arab sheikhs. This was stated during the visit to Ternopil by the President of the Public Organization "Ukrainian-Arab Business Council" Sheikh Emad Abu Alrub. The leading partners of the region among other countries are Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar and Lebanon.
