The Russian state has identified state regions that are unfavorable for agriculture. Dmitry Medvedev, chairman of the government, signed a list of relevant regions. This the list contains 29 subjects Of the Russian Federation, which were classified as "unfavorable for agriculture" regions. Eight regions of the Far East were included: Yakutia, Magadan Oblast, Sakhalin Oblast, Primorsky Territory, Khabarovsk Territory and Kamchatka Territory, Jewish Autonomous Region and Chukotka Autonomous Region.
The list also includes five Siberian regions, such as Kemerovo and Tomsk regions, Altai, Buryatia and Tyva. The list also lists four regions from the North Caucasus Federal District and the North-West Federal District, in particular, areas in Dagestan, Ingushetia, North Ossetia-Alania, Cherkeshenka, Karelia, Komi, along with the Arkhangelsk Region and the Nenets Autonomous District. The list of the Tyumen region (without autonomous districts), the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Yugra, the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Kalmykia, Volgograd, Bryansk, the Ivanovo region and the Perm Territory conclude.
