Sunflower is one of the most recognizable plants, not only because of its beautiful and bright appearance, but also as a source of vegetable oil.
The potential of this culture has not yet been fully disclosed, which makes it possible to produce more and more new varieties that exceed the older ones in terms of indicators.
It is about new hybrids and long-bred varieties that will be discussed.
Variety "Jason"
This sunflower is a hybrid. It was withdrawn in Serbia. The plant is typically high for this species, it grows in height up to 160-185 cm.
The vegetation period takes about 107-110 days, which makes it possible to attribute this variety to early ripening. The basket at "Jason" is medium in size, with a diameter of up to 18-24 cm, slightly flattened.
The seeds are gray-striped, the oils in them are about 49.7-50.4%. 1000 seeds weigh about 93 g. The flowering and ripening period of the hybrid Jason plants are evenly distributed.
Direction set as oilseed. Parzirichnost and huskiness of seeds is equal to 99.7% and 21-22%, respectively.
The maximum yield per hectare is about 4-4.2 tons of sunflowers. Plants of this variety grow quietly in conditions of too thick planting, they do not crumble, they are well resistant to lodging, but can suffer from severe drought and heat.
As for diseases, not a single type of dew will harm this sunflower, but different types of rot can slightly spoil the crop.
Sort "Lux"
This variety of sunflower is the result of careful selection of plants of the variety Donskoy Koroplodnoy. Thanks to such a good "parent", the luxury variety sunflowers not affected by various diseasesthat hit the so-called confectionery sunflowers.
This variety is highly productive, but its average group of ripeness. Vegetation is delayed, on average, for 100-105 days, which makes it possible to classify "Lux" as an early variety.
The yield is very high, an average of 3.2-3.4 tons of sunflowers per hectare of field. This variety is good because it has very large seeds, the weight of 1000 pieces reaches 135-145 g. The nuclei are large, adjacent to the walls of the seeds not too tight.
At the height of the plant can reach 175-185 cm, and the basket in diameter grows to 25-27 cm, has a slightly convex shape, and also lowered down. Oiliness is 44.4%, and the desimentation is 20%.
Sunflowers varieties "Lux" is not affected at all by different types of broomrape, rot, verticillosis and fomopsisom, but may be slightly affected by downy mildew. Also this sunflower is a great honey plant. It is characterized by relatively high resistance to drought, it grows well in any soils and climate. For "Lux" fatal thickening.
Variety "Oreshek"
It was bred as a result of breeding varieties of confectionery direction "Gourmand" and "SEC". Refers to the early maturing. Suitable for growing in any conditions that are technically suitable for the cultivation of this culture.

"Gourmand" is a large-fruited middle-ripening variety that matures fast enough - for 105-110 days. Flowering and ripening aligned. Bushes are very high, up to 1.9 m, the basket is lowered, convex in the area of fastening of sunflower seeds, of average diameter.
Good yield , 31-35 centners from 1 hectare of area. The purpose of the variety is universal, because, due to its good taste, these seeds are suitable for the confectionery industry, and because of the high oil content (50%) of their seeds, it is possible to make a by-product.
The oil yield will be approximately 1.4 tons per hectare. The seeds themselves are large, elongated, 1000 pieces in weight will reach 130 g. Medonos from Gourmet is excellent.
Also, these plants do not need pesticides during cultivation, as they can grow to impressive size and in poor conditions. Does not fade in a heat, is not showered and does not lie. It is immune to moths, broomrape, powdery mildew.
Sort "Forward"
Hybrid. As a result of selection, I found resistance to sclerotinia, races of sunflower broomrape and fomopsis. Almost does not suffer from various types of rot and downy mildew.
Refers to medium-early varieties. Vegetation takes 104-108 days. At the initial stages it develops very quickly, does not suffer from a lack of moisture and high temperatures, the stems do not lodge, and the plants themselves ripen very amicably, and the height of the stems throughout the field is almost the same, which makes it easy to harvest.
The height of the plant reaches 182-187 cm. The diameter of the basket is 15-20 cm, in shape it is slightly convex, lowered down. The direction of this hybrid sunflower oilseed, as the percentage of vegetable fat in the core reaches 49.3-49.7%.
Huddle and armor seeds are 21-22% and 99.7%, respectively. The seed itself is striped, dark, the stripes are also dark, of medium size. The weight of 1000 seeds varies about 90 g, 97% of crops are grown. Per hectare can be collected 43-44 centners of crop.
Sort "Oliver"
A hybrid of Serbian production with very short ripening periods (90-95 days). The plants themselves are low, 135-145 cm in height, do not branch, with a powerful root system that penetrates to a depth of 1.5-2 m. Medium-sized baskets are thin, so they very actively lose water, flat in shape, even in the field of fastening of sunflower seeds.
The seeds are medium, broad, egg-shaped, dark, the weight of 1000 pieces is 60-70 grams. The carapace of the seeds is well developed, the desolation is 22-24%.
The oils in the seeds are at least 47-49%, which determines the direction of sunflowers of this variety - oil. The oil yield is 1128 kg per 1 ha. The yield is 23.5 centners per hectare, but with good care and proper planting, the figure can reach 45 centners.
As for diseases, neither downy mealy dew, nor rust, nor a sunflower mole will harm the plants of this variety. Also these sunflowers have enough high resistance to drought and heat.
Grade "Rimisol"
Hybrid sunflower of the olive direction. The growing season is delayed for 106-110 days. For sunflowers varieties "Rimisol" is characterized by high nectar productivity, as well as the lack of response to the lack of moisture. With proper care of plants from 1 hectare area, you can get more than 40 centners of the crop, which is quite a good indicator.
Plants in height reach 140-160 cm, with a rather thick stalk, a large number of leaves, a well-developed root system, which will “get” moisture even from a depth of 1.5-2 m.
The basket at Rimisol with a diameter of 19-22 cm, tilted down, convex, rather thin. Black seeds, elongated, weighing 1000 pieces, on average, 75 g.
At the initial stages of development, plants grow very quickly. The oils in the cores contain about 46-48%, the indicators of hunginess are kept at the level of 21-23%. Resistance to lodging and shedding is quite high.
Also plant is immune to rust and moths, almost does not suffer from fomopsis, but requires treatment against all races of broomrape.
Grade "Atilla"
Refers to superearly varietiesIt ripens in 95-100 days. The first shoots can be seen already after 58-60 days after planting.
It has a particularly strong resistance to diseases of various kinds, it survives well in a variety of soils.
The plants themselves are high (160–165 cm), with a flat, half-inclined basket, the diameter of which reaches 22–24 cm. The percentage of oil in the seed kernels is 51–52%, and the slumber is 20–22%.
On average, the yield of yield is 40 c / ha, but in the future, all 52 c. Plants well withstand temperature changes, lack of moisture and heat.
Almost all types of diseases do not affect sunflowers of this variety, even Phomopsis, rust and all types of rot. The variety is sufficiently resistant to the sunflower moth.
Grade "Prometheus"
Very early variety, the productivity of which is extremely high.
Plants have time to fully form in less than 95 days. They are rather low (140 cm), with an average basket with a diameter of 18-22 cm.
The potential yield is 38 centners per hectare, the average is kept at 25-27 centners. 1000 seeds weigh about 65-70 grams, oil in them from 50 to 52%.
Drought tolerance for these sunflowers is excellent. There is also immunity against broomrape, downy mildew, and rust. Rot can ruin a little crop.
Plants respond well to top dressing.
Sort "Flagship"
Early variety sunflower with a growing season of 90-94 days. Potential yield is 36 kg / ha. Plants are very tall, more than 2 meters in height.
The seeds are elongated, oval, 1000 seeds will weigh 60-65 g.
They contain a lot of vegetable oil - up to 55%, which makes this particular grade indispensable in the production of the product.
This sunflower variety is different high tech, perfectly responds to the high agricultural background. Quickly adapts to the new conditions of the place where these plants are grown. It is not affected by powdery mildew, broomrape, and is highly tolerant to fomopsis.
